Belated Relaying of the Hike

So it's been about two weeks since Davis was here and I have yet to write about / post pictures of our beautiful hike in Eldorado Canyon State Park. So here I am! And here they are. Still thinking about all the lovely memories and gorgeous vistas.

It was a perfect day, temps in the 70's, sunny and peak fall colors. Here's what we saw as we first entered the park, a few miles south of Boulder.

The winding trail continued up and into the Flatirons, eventually rewarding us with amazing views of the larger snowcapped Rockies in the distance. And of course we couldn't resist a few photo ops along the way.

Happy hiking kids.

Davis pondering the scenery.

Aaaand me similarly pondering : )

The mountains at their finest.

Almost to the top!

Made it! If you look closely you can see those snowy mountains in the distance.

There's a train on that ridge. Coal!

Back down in the canyon.

Climbers were all over the place. Intense stuff!

Beautiful fall colors.

And on the way out, through the tiny town of Eldorado Springs, a little taste of Americana I couldn't help but capture.

In other news, congrats to Joe and Beth AND Tori and Jake on their recent engagements. I'm very excited for all of you and can't wait til the big day(s)!
